Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need MS PowerPoint to play?

Disney Game Night is now available to download from the App Store and Google Play. However, if you wish to play the original PowerPoint version, you will need the Microsoft PowerPoint application installed on your laptop or desktop computer.

If you don’t have PowerPoint, you can download a FREE 30 day trial here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/microsoft-365/try

2. How/where do I download the PowerPoint games?

Follow the download instructions provided on the https://disneygamenight.com/ website. You will need to enter the unique code provided on the game’s instruction card included in the box, along with your email address to receive the game’s PowerPoint download link.

3. Am I supposed to approve the use of Macros when I open the PowerPoint file?

Yes. Sometimes downloaded files that contain macros can have issues working correctly because they can’t always meet the requirements of all the combinations of different security settings consumers have. This may affect how the "buttons" work to advance the game or how the game scores.

If you encounter such problems, please take the time to check the following.

  • Ensure *macros are enabled when opening the game – see below for PC and MAC - This is what makes the scores and other parts work correctly.
  • Ensure you only have PowerPoint open once. More than one PowerPoint open at a time can sometimes cause a glitch in your game. Completely close PowerPoint and then reopen only your game.
  • If you have recently updated your software or running system, please restart your computer.

Microsoft Windows PC

  • Drag the Game from the Downloads Folder onto your Desktop
  • Click the Microsoft Office Button
  • Click PowerPoint Options
  • Go to your Trust Centre settings to ensure “Disable all *macros except digitally signed macros” is selected.
  • Then close and reopen your game. This step is important.

NOTE: Additional steps for Windows 10 or later

  • Open Windows File Explorer
  • Right click the .ppsm game file and choose Properties from the context menu
  • At the bottom of the General tab, select the Unblock checkbox, then select OK or Apply.
  • Then close and reopen your game. This step is important.
PowerPoint macro unblock settings

MAC

  • Click PowerPoint
  • Click Preferences
  • Click Security & Privacy
  • Click Enable all *macros
  • Click Trust access to the VBA project object model
  • Then close and reopen your game. This step is important.

Regardless of platform (Mac or PC) it is recommended that you revert your Macros preferences to your original settings when not playing the PowerPoint Party Game.

4. My PowerPoint game feels a little slow to play at times, is that normal?

The more complex games can take up to a minute to load at the player selection process, this is normal as it is setting up the selections behind the scenes. Once selections are in place, the games work at a normal pace.

5. Does the access code I have supplied in my original printed game box work with the new Disney Game Night app?

Yes. Simply enter one of the access codes printed on the game instruction cards to unlock the new Disney Game Night app.

6. Can I cast the new Disney Game Night app to me smartTV?

Yes. Just make sure the mobile device you’ve installed the Disney Game Night app on is connected to the same Network as your smartTV.

7. Why is the Disney Game Night app not working properly with my phone or tablet?

The Disney Game Night app has been designed to work with modern phones and tablets. If you’re using a device that is older than three or four years, and more importantly, not running the latest operating system software, you may experience issues.

We recommend updating your phone’s OS to the latest version and ensuring the Disney Gamne Night app is completely up to date.
